Guangdong Imported Food Association held the bank-enterprise matching meeting (Special Meeting for Meat Import Enterprises) at the Food2China Expo site on September 20, 2019, as it has undertaken the work of Guangzhou Municipal Commerce Bureau and Financial Bureau on matchmaking between meat product enterprises and the financial system.

During the meeting, relevant leaders from Department of Commerce of Guangdong Province and Guangzhou Municipal Commerce Bureau listened carefully to the reports of meat import enterprises, and analyzed the recent situation of meat import in Guangdong Province and Guangzhou City as well as the situation of meat supply and demand together with related enterprises. The participating financial institutions have also had special communication with import enterprises on the financing and loan of meat import, and answered all the questions that the enterprises concerned about.

The Department of Commerce of Guangdong Province issued a notice on supporting enterprises to expand pork imports on October 18, 2019, after a series of investigations and decisions. The notice emphasized that the provincial policy on import interest subsidy was drawn up to encourage enterprises to expand pork imports. For enterprises registered in the province (excluding Shenzhen), those who have executed the import contract of pork (commodity type: Pork, HS Code: 0203) between January 1, 2020 and June 30, 2020 and completed the customs clearance procedures of customs declaration form of imported goods shall be given a discount interest of 0.2 RMB per US dollar. Besides, the applicant enterprise shall be the company of product consumption on the Customs Declaration of Imported Goods, and the domestic consignee on the Customs Declaration of Imported Goods shall be an enterprise registered in the province.
